CERVICAL SMEAR 

Cervical Smear testing is recommended for all women above age 25, every 3 – 5 years The purpose of cervical smear screening is to detect pre-cancerous changes in the neck of the womb, which can be treated relatively easily. A smear is taken form the neck of the womb and sent to the laboratory for examination. The process is painless.

Please register with the HSE to avail of the free Cervical Screening.

This can be done on line, on http://www.cervicalcheck.ie or by telephone 1800454555. You will receive an invitation letter with your unique CSPID number.

ANTENATAL CARE 

Mizen medical practice is a member of the HSE Mother and Infant scheme which provides free ante natal checks to expecting mothers, 2 week baby check and 6 weeks checks for mother and baby.

Your doctor will make arrangements for you with CUMH, and your Obstetrician for shared care and scans.

Antenatal classes are available through the HSE.
